Joe Mikulik
Manager

Joe Mikulik is in his eighth season as the Tourists’ manager…his managerial stint represents the longest consecutive-season run for an Asheville skipper in franchise history…Mikulik enters the 2007 season on the verge of making club history as he ranks second on the Tourists’ all-time managerial wins list with 481 career victories, just 37 wins behind Ray Hathaway, who led Asheville in two separate stints during the 1950s and 1960s

Under the guidance of Mikulik in 2001, Asheville won the Southern Division and advanced to the SAL Championship game…he was named manager of the league’s All-Star team

‘Mik’ joined the Rockies organization after spending one year as Houston’s minor league baserunning and outfield coordinator Before his stint with the Astros, Joe managed Class A Burlington in the Indians’ system, where he was a coach before taking over on August 12, 1997.

He began his coaching career as a player/coach at Double-A Canton-Akron in 1995, he was the Astros’ ninth-round selection in the 1984 June draft and played for 12 years

He made all-star teams for the South-Atlantic League (1985), Mexican League (1989), Texas League (1991) and was a Double-A All-Star in 1991.

He rose as high as AAA-Tucson and played his entire career in the Houston organization except for 109 games for Tabasco, Mexico in 1994 and winter ball in Venezuela and Mexico

Joe and his wife Kathy have two children, Susan and Dawson, and reside in Candler, North Carolina.

Doug Linton
Pitching Coach

Doug Linton joins the Rockies organization for his first season as the Tourists pitching coach…the former pitcher played parts of nine seasons in the major leagues with California (1987-1992) and Florida (1993-95)

The 43-year-old was a two-time All-Star (1991, 1993) and earned the American League Rolaids Relief Award in 1991 after finishing first in the A.L. with 67 games played and saving a career high 46 games

Harvey, a native of Tennessee, saved the first game in Florida Marlins history, on April 5, 1993 vs. Los Angeles

He was selected by the Marlins in the expansion draft and earned his second trip to the All-Star Game that season. Overall he compiled 177 saves in 322 major league games. Harvey’s most recent stint in baseball came last season as he was a United States scout for a Japanese league

Houston Jimenez
Coach

Houston is enjoying his second season in Colorado’s minor league chain and ’07 marks his first full season as the hitting coach for the Tourists. The 49-year-old originally joined the club last May and helped Tourist hitters post the second-highest batting average in the South Atlantic League with a .271 clip

A former major league infielder, Jimenez played parts of four seasons with Minnesota (1983-84), Pittsburgh (1987) and Cleveland (1988).

In addition to his 158 big league games, the shortstop spent time in the Mexican Pacific League, where he ranks second all-time with 230 doubles and 209 stolen bases, and third with 754 runs scored and 1,339 hits.

In July, 2007, Jimenez was inducted to the Mexican Professional Baseball Hall of Fame. Inductees are known as "inmortales" (English: immortals).

Prior to joining the Rockies organization, Jimenez managed the Mexico City Red Devils in 2005 and was a coach for the Tijuana Colts in 2006
Chris Dovey
Trainer

Chris is in his second season with the Tourists after serving as the trainer at Tri-City in the Northwest League in 2005.
