Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats fell short in their quest to reach the International League Championship Series, dropping the winner take all game five tonight 5-3 to the Durham Bulls at Louisville Slugger Field. The Bats were only able to scatter four hits and were never able to keep the momentum on their side.

Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats defeated the Durham Bulls 10-7 in the face of elimination this evening. There was a barrage of hits and runs through three innings, with both teams putting up six runs a piece. Niether starting pitcher lasted any longer than two-and-one-third innings. Both bullpen's pitched well to keep their respective teams in the game, but the Bats finally broke the dead lock on a solo home run by Danny Dorn in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was played at Louisville Slugger Field in front of 3,165 fans.

Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats failed to rally in the bottom of the ninth as they were defeated by the Durham Bulls tonight by the score of 4-3. The loss puts the Bats on the brink of elimination, as they now trail two games to one in the best-of-five first round playoff series. The Bats surrendered all four runs in the top of the fourth inning this evening. The game was played at Louisville Slugger Field in front of a lively playoff crowd of 6,345.

Durham, NC - Down 1-0 in the series, the Bats fell into a quick 2-0 hole in the first inning. But, the Bats bounced back with four straight hits to start the fourth and took a 3-2 lead. They added two in the fifth and took Game 2, 5-2, evening the series at a game each.

A trio of Louisville home runs was not enough to squander a pair of big innings by Durham. The Bats' defense allowed the Bulls to stay on the bases all night, as they were charged with four errors. 1,809 fans gathered to witness the first round of the International League playoffs at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats were defeated by the Indianapolis Indians 4-2 in the last game of the regular season on a beautiful Labor Day afternoon. The Indians scored two runs on a fielder's choice, coupled with a throwing error in the top of the eighth inning, to break a 2-2 dead lock. For the Indians it was their final game of the season, whereas the International League West Division champion Bats will move on to the playoffs this Wednesday. The game was played at Louisville Slugger Field, in front of 8,375 fans.

Louisville, KY - The Louisville Bats entered the final two games of the season looking to get ready for the playoffs. If tonight was any indication, they are ready. The Bats rode a seven-run sixth inning to down the Indianapolis Indians 7-0 tonight in front of 10,394 fans at Louisville Slugger Field. Sam LeCure paced Louisville on the mound and helped his own cause at the plate going 1-for-3 with a two-out, two-run single in the sixth inning.

Coming into the game, the Bats held a nine-and-a-half game lead over division foe, Toledo Mud Hens. The magic number was one, thus any combination of a Bats win or Mud Hens loss would give the Bats the title. The Bats got a little help from the Indianapolis Indians as they defeated the Mud Hens, 12-0, clinching the division for the Bats. Tonight's game was played at Louisville Slugger Field in front of an energetic crowd of 12,769 fans.

Louisville, Ky- The Bats took on the Columbus Clippers in game two of the four-game series at Louisville Slugger FIeld tonight. Southpaw Tom Cochran took the mound in his first Triple-A debut as Louisville looked to inch closer to back-to-back IL West Division Title. Juan Francisco, Chris Heisey and Chris Valaika led an offensive outburst for the Bats, as they defeated the Indians 10-4 In front of 9,569 fans. However, the IL West Division will have to wait until tomorrow as Toledo escaped with a 7-6 win over Indy.

Louisville, KY - With their magic number to clinch the division down to three, the Louisville Bats opened up a short four-game homestand by dropping game one to the Columbus Clippers 7-2 tonight in front of 8,175 fans at Louisville Slugger Field. The Bats only accumulated four hits with Luis Bolivar going 2-for-4, including two triples. Bolivar's two triples tied a franchise record for most in a game.

The Bats return home Thursday to face the Columbus Clippers at 7:05 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. Probables are RHP Sam LeCure (9-6, 4.38) for the Bats and RHP Carlos Carrasco (10-10, 4.80) for Columbus.

Toledo, OH - The Louisville Bats cruised to an easy win over the Toledo Mud Hens tonight as they move to six games away from clinching their division. Eric Eymann hit his first Triple-A home run and the Bats set a franchise record 14 shutouts in a season, as the Bats won 5-0 over the host Mud Hens. Due to injuries in Cincinnati and the call-ups of Darnell McDonald and Corky Miller, the Bats played with only nine position players tonight. There were 6,454 fans in attendance at tonight's game.

ALLENTOWN, Pa- After a slow start, the Louisville Bats offense exploded against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs pitching staff en route to a 12-8 victory in front of 10,000 patrons at Coca-Cola park. The Bats scored their second highest run total of the season and picked up 15 hits in the victory. With the win, the Bats also increased their lead in the IL West Division to 9.5 thanks to an Indianapolis and Toledo loss.

As half the city was underwater, the Bats played ball after only a ten minute delay. It was the final game of the series, and the final game of the homestand for Louisville. Chris Denove hit his first Triple-A home run to give the Bats the early lead, as they held on to win 2-0. There were 6,557 fans in attendance for one of the shortest games in Bats' history at one-hour, fifty-eight minutes.

The game was tied 2-2 at the end of nine, and in the top of the 11th, the Hens put up three unearned runs to take a 5-2 lead, but in the bottom half of the 11th, the Bats scored four runs en route to the victory. Louisville fell 2-1 after being unable to rally from an early deficit against the Bisons. There were 7,299 fans that braved the weather to be in attendance.

Louisville, KY - In the second-straight extra-inning game, the Bats won the last game of the series against the Durham Bulls Sunday night at Louisville Slugger Field. The game seemed more like a boxing match than a baseball game with the amount of counterpunches each team was able to manufacture. The Bats managed to split the series with the Bulls 2-2. In front of a crowd of 5,416 fans, the Bisons rode the hot hand of starter Brandon Knight (1-2, 3.96). The veteran righty Knight got the win as he handled the Bats all afternoon, turning in his best outing of the year for the Bisons. Knight pitched seven shutout innings, while scattering only five hits. He also managed to strike out nine batters.

Bats split double header with Bisons Buffalo, NY - Louisville played two today against Buffalo on a cool, sunny afternoon at Coca-Cola Field. The pair of seven-inning games between the Bats and the Bisons were two entirely different match ups. The Bisons won the first game 5-1, behind the strong pitching of Dylan Gee (1-3, 4.33). The second game, however, was taken by the Bats 2-0 with Homer Bailey pitching his first career complete game shutout for Louisville. There were just 4,870 fans in attendance.
