The promotion originated last year as a way for the BlueClaws and Asbury Park Press to give back to area families, and because of the success of the program (over 15,000 tickets were sold), they offered to bring it back in 2010.
"We're really trying to help everyone in the area," said Tom Donovan, President and Publisher of the Asbury Park Press. "The BlueClaws are a great place for a relaxing and affordable weekend, and we're thrilled to be a part of it."
On April 17th, a 4:05 pm game, the BlueClaws will celebrate the 10th birthday of mascot Buster. The first 2,000 fans 18 & over will receive a BlueClaws fleece cap courtesy of TD Bank.
The next day, the BlueClaws will host the first of eight Kids Day Sundays (at 1:05 pm). There will be a special children's character on the concourse for pictures with the children and Kids Eat Free thanks to ShopRite.
Dollar Weekend tickets will go on sale for the first time at the team's FanFest, Saturday, March 20th at FirstEnergy Park.
Opening Day is Friday, April 16th, when the BlueClaws raise the 2009 South Atlantic League Championship banner.
