Portland Beavers owner Merritt Paulson says he's suspended negotiations that might have turned his Minor League Baseball team into the Beaverton Beavers.

Paulson didn't say where he'd turn next in his search for a home for his Triple-A team. He's moving it from Portland to make room for a Major League Soccer franchise in 2011.

Paulson said Friday that Beaverton hasn't been able to find a stadium site, and time is running out. He's said construction should begin by June.

Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle says the city just couldn't meet the deadline.

Paulson and Portland leaders looked at two sites in Portland, but both fell through. Then Paulson turned to the western suburb. He's also reported to be looking at suburban sites on the east side of Portland.
