Matt Brown SAL Player of the Week

(Eastlake, OH) - The South Atlantic League announced today that Captains outfielder Matt Brown has been named SAL Player of the week for the week of July 20th through the 27th.
Brown, a 23 year old left handed batting outfielder from Oklahoma City, OK hit .400 (8-20) with a grand slam home run, four doubles and ten RBI's. Brown had the home run and six RBI's on Sunday versus West Virginia. Brown currently leads the Captains with a .293 batting average and also leads the team with 63 RBI's. He has six home runs on the season.
Brown attended Wichita State before being drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the thirteenth round in 2007. He spent the entire 2007season at Mahoning Valley where he hit .250 with no me runs and thirty one RBI's.
Brown will be honored during a pre game ceremony at Classic Park on Tuesday July 29th prior to the game against West Virginia. Brown is the first Captains position player to receive this honor in 2008. Ryan Miller was Pitcher of the Week in May.
