Great Falls heads to Pioneer Finals
Mead, Mollenhauer power offense in 10-3 rout of Helena

Great Falls is headed to the Pioneer League Finals after topping Helena, 10-3, on Monday in Game 3 of the North Division Championship.

Andrew Mead belted a solo home run and Dale Mollenhauer added a two-RBI single in the second inning as the White Sox took the lead for good. Mollenhauer went 3-for-6 in the game.

Salvador Sanchez delivered a two-run double and Christian Marrero lifted a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Marrero also drilled a solo shot in the eighth and Greg Paiml had two hits and scored twice for Great Falls, which advanced to the title round for the first time since winning the championship in 2002.

White Sox starter John Ely (1-0) allowed two runs on six hits while striking out seven and walking one over five innings. Wander Perez gave up a run on two hits and a walk over 1 2/3 frames, Levi Maxwell recorded four outs and Henry Mabee yielded a hit and fanned one in a scoreless ninth.

Kurt Crowell ripped a two-run single in the second and Matthew Cline singled and scored on a wild pitch by Maxwell in the seventh for the Brewers.

Helena starter Robert Bryson (0-1) surrendered three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four in two innings.

The White Sox will visit South Division champion Orem for Game 1 of the best-of-3 Finals on Wednesday. Great Falls took six of seven meetings with the Owlz during the regular season.
