Beloit's Jeffrey Manship has come a long way since his reconstructive elbow surgery in 2004. Just ask the Fort Wayne hitters, the 22-year-old right-hander's latest victims in the Midwest League.

Manship (2-0) held the Wizards to one base hit in seven nearly flawless innings as the Snappers blanked the Wizards, 3-0, at Pohlman Field on Monday. He struck out eight and walked one as he extended his scoreless-inning streak to 13 frames.

It was just the latest dominating performance for Manship, whose 2004 Tommy John surgery contributed to him slipping to the 14th round of last year's First-Year Players Draft. Through five starts, the former San Antonio prep star has allowed three runs in 32 innings and has fanned a league-leading 36 batters while walking three. Opposing hitters have only managed a .147 batting average against him to date.

Rob Delaney set down the final six batters in order, striking out two, for his fourth save.

Johnny Woodard ripped a RBI double in the first inning for the Snappers (11-9). Daniel Berg slapped a run-scoring triple and scored on Allan De San Miguel's base hit in the fourth.

Kyler Burke's single in the second inning was Fort Wayne's only hit. Michael Campbell followed with a walk, but Manship and Delaney combined to set down 23 straight Wizards (10-10) to end the game.

Fort Wayne starter Andrew Miller surrendered three runs on six hits and three walks without a strikeout in four innings.
