Humber Wins PCL Pitcher of the Week Award

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- New Orleans Zephyrs starter Philip Humber is the Pacific Coast League's Pitcher of the Week after he earned a win and posted a 1.38 earned run average during the period of April 16-21.

Zephyrs starter Philip Humber picked up a win, struck out seven batters, and allowed just two runs in 13 innings of work during his second week at the Triple-A level. The 6'-foot 4" right-hander out of Rice University improved his season record to 2-and-1 and lowered his overall ERA to 3.00 with his impressive showings against the Memphis Redbirds and Albuquerque Isotopes. The twenty-four year old native of Carthage, Texas is in his third professional season and was a first-round selection by the New York Mets in the 2004 draft.
