FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies are pleased to announce that they will welcome three celebrity guests to downtown Fresno during the 2009 season. "Mad Tight 90's Night Featuring Dennis "Mr. Belding" Haskins will be on Thursday, May 14th, while former Giants first baseman J.T. Snow will visit in August and the world's greatest living ballplayer, Willie Mays, will stop by Chukchansi Park on June 7th. Thursday, May 14: Mad Tight 90's Night Featuring Dennis "Mr. Belding" Haskins For one of the biggest nights of the year, Chukchansi Park will be transported back a decade for "Mad Tight 90's Night Featuring Dennis "Mr. Belding" Haskins. As the beloved principal of Bayside High in Saved By The Bell, a quintessential television program of the 1990's, Dennis Haskins is a familiar name and face to millions of young adults. Haskins will sign autographs, take pictures with fans, and participate in on-field entertainment as the Grizzlies celebrate the best fashions, pop culture trends, and music of the 1990's. In 2008, the Grizzlies won Ballpark Watch's "Promotion of the Year" award for Totally Rad 80's Night Featuring Billy Zabka, and this promotion and guest are sure to take the Grizzlies' signature event to a whole new level. Sunday, June 7: Willie Mays Tribute Night As the finest player ever to put on a San Francisco Giants uniform, and perhaps the greatest all-around ballplayer in the history of the game, Willie Mays will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all baseball fans. The Hall of Famer, who currently serves as a special assistant to Giants President Larry Baer, will visit Chukchansi Park on Sunday, June 7th when the Grizzlies honor his career. A select group of Grizzlies fans will win the opportunity for a private meet-and-greet with Mays, the details of which will be announced at a later date. A two-time National League Most Valuable Player, and record 24-time All-Star, Mays played 21 seasons with the New York and San Francisco Giants. Upon his Hall of Fame induction in 1979 (first ballot), Mays was asked to name the best player that he had seen during his career. Mays replied, "I don't mean to be bashful, but I was." Ted Williams once said "They invented the All-Star Game for Willie Mays." Sunday, August 9: J.T. Snow Appearance & Autograph Session J.T. Snow joined the San Francisco Giants front office in 2006 after a 15-year Major League playing career during which he was an overwhelming fan favorite in the Bay Area. During his playing career, Snow piled up six Gold Gloves at the first base position and helped lead San Francisco to four postseason appearances. Now operating in a variety of functions for the Giants, Snow will visit Chukchansi Park on August 9th to sign free autographs for Grizzlies fans.
